|The eLisa application is used for managing all the loading and unloading operations.
The perimeter of this project encompasses only the FAO plant. As explained on the following figure (Figure 1), FAO has 2 different shareholders:

The eLisa solution relies on a centralized SLQ2005 database and two different applications.
The first application is called the eLisa Background, which runs locally on a Total Windows Server.
In the proposed solution, there is only one instance needed for guarantying a working solution. It handles all automatic data treatment and communicates with all external equipment/devices/modules.
The second application is called the eLisa Foreground, which runs locally on each workstation that needs this application. It is the main user interface for the end user of the application.
It is based on a client-server architecture, which lets us install the application at the guards, at logistics, at yield accounting, expedition and loading. An administrator of the system can also use this application for different purposes.
Only a Windows PC and the Total network is needed to run this application and to connect to the central SQL 2005 database.
User profiles are used to grant access to different end users to the different functionalities of the application.
Reporting is done via excel exports and creation of reports (Crystal Reports XI).
Both applications are developed with Microsoft C# DotNet V2.0 Technology. This choice of technology guaranties a compatibility with recent hardware used, a future evolution of the technology (Vista) and the integration into the Windows Platform (import and export of data from/to excel and word).
