IT Logistic Solution

Projet Scope

Petrochemical branch of the Total Group, Total Petrochemicals Feluy produces polymers (polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene) is an important raw material provider for plastic processors: they enter into the manufacture of a wide range of household and industrial products.
The raw materials used to its production are carried by pipeline, road and boats.
The finished products are delivered by road only (tank and pallets) in the proportion of 10% in Belgium, 80% in Europe and 10% for overseas export.

A full eLisa suite ensures the management of all truck site entries & exits:

Truck drivers registration terminals

Two kiosks are located at the entrance of the gate house, allowing the drivers to register in 12 languages.

The use of access points has allowed the plant to increase its capacity with the same staff. These terminals are now home to nearly 200 trucks per day.

During the registration process, the driver mentions a reference number (order number). At the end of the process, a document is printed home, on which appear:

  • a map
  • instructions in the language of the driver
  • anomalies that the system would eventually have detected

The driver shows up at the guard, with this document, to obtain a badge.

The regular drivers can pre-register the night before and avoid the rush of the morning.

Once on site, the driver registers his first weighing on the first bridge, then goes to a second terminal, which will validate the quantities to be loaded.

For Bulk transports: eLisa may recalculate (upward or downward) the quantities to be loaded, within the limits of the legal maximum weight.

for packed goods: eLisa raises a warning if the quantities ordered lead to a predictable truck overload.

A bill of lading and a map to get to the loading terminal is printed by the application..

Honeywell access control

Access control throughout the Feluy site is provided by a system of Honeywell card readers.

eLisa interfaces with the system to transmit all the badges authorizations at the entry, exit and onsite gates.

Truck call display

The trucks which come loading on the plant are waiting,on an external parking lot, for their badge to be called.

eLisa is in charge of calling the trucks to the various loading stations according to their time of appointment, their priority, and free space for each loading spot.

When a free place is detected, another truck is allowed to enter, and the badge is called on two large displays.

Interface with 2 weighing bridges

Two Precia Molen weighing bridges are interfaced by eLisa. The drivers badge on the bridge, and the weights are automatically uploaded in the eLisa system.

Interface with SAP

All commercial orders come down automatically via a link (file sharing) with the SAP system:

All scheduled orders (both expeditions receptions) are descended from SAP, and can be found in eLisa.

Based on the information sent by SAP, eLisa can edit detailed bills of lading.

Once the truck loading is complete, all weights are known in the eLisa system. The staff of the expedition office will validate the data loading (matching of products and quantities loaded), and close the transaction.

eLisa then forwards the information to SAP loading, which triggers

  • an update of the order (good issue)
  • an update of the stocks
  • the printing of the legal transport document, which is given to the driver

A specific module in eLisa is in charge of managing non-commercial transactions, that is to say "anything that is not within SAP", such as shipment of samples, waste shipments, internal stock transfers, etc. .

Interface with a loading terminal

One of the charging stations (propane) runs fully automated, and must be accessible self-service 24/24h.

For the loading of propane trucks, eLisa communicates with a PLC in order to ensure:

  • the access control in this area
  • the calculation of loadable quantities, transmitted to the PLC
  • the integration of the loaded quantities (weight, volume, etc), transmitted by the PLC

A specific list of drivers, trucks and trailers allowed to load propane is maintained in the application.

Interface with Excise

Since late 2010, a specific interface has been developed for the Feluy site to automatically transmit the information of shipments of products subject to excise duty to customs.
